Troubleshooting: How to perform a clean uninstall of BIMcollab Zoom

Resolve errors with BIMcollab Zoom by creating completly new install on your system.

In many instances, a clean uninstall of BIMcollab Zoom can resolve a variety of technical application errors. This process ensures that no corrupted files exist on your system which may arise during an installation or update.

You can follow the steps below depending on what operating system you use.


Clean uninstall for Windows:

  1. Go to CONTROL PANEL

    1. Look for the BIMcollab Zoom application with the version number you are using and uninstall this

    2. Uninstall the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 x64 Redistributable

    3. Uninstall the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 x86 Redistributable

  2. Go to Explorer and delete the following folder locations:

    1. C:\ProgramData\Kubus

    2. C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Kubus

    3. C:\Users\Public\Documents\BIMcollab ZOOM (if present)

  3. Open the Run dialog box and execute the command REGEDIT

    1. Delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Kubus

    2. Delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Kubus (if present)

📝 Note: During a clean uninstall of BIMcollab Zoom, all locally saved resources, including Smart Views, Lists, and Conflict definitions, will be removed. To avoid losing them, make sure to back up your local resources by either:

  1. Exporting your rules:
    Create a report package or export your rule sets.
    After reinstalling BIMcollab Zoom, import the rules back.

  2. Sharing your rules to an online BIMcollab project:
    Upload your rules to a shared online project.
    After reinstalling, connect to the online project to access your rules.


Clean uninstall for MacOS:

  1. Delete BIMcollab Zoom from Applications

  2. Delete /Library/Caches/KUBUS

  3. Delete /Users/<user name>/Library/Preferences/Kubus.BIMcollab-ZOOM.plist

  4. Delete /Users/<user name>/Library/Preferences/Kubus

📝 Note: For Mac users, the library folder will most likely be hidden. To show the hidden folders, press CMD + SHIFT + . (dot)
