BIMcollab Zoom requires specific folder permissions to function properly. If you are experiencing any errors or crashes, it may be due to insufficient permissions on installation and working directories.
Required Folder Permissions
BIMcollab Zoom requires read and write access to the following folders:
1. Installation Directory
Windows: C:\Program Files\KUBUS\BIMcollab Zoom
Mac: /Applications/BIMcollab Zoom/BIMcollab Zoom.app
Required Permissions:
Read & Execute: All users
Write: Administrator (for installation and updates)
2. User Data Directory & Cache
Windows: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Kubus\BIMcollab Zoom
Mac: /Users/<user name>/Library/Preferences/Kubus/BIMcollab Zoom
Required Permissions:
Read & Write: The logged-in user
💡 Tip: Your local BIMcollab Zoom resources like Smart Views, Lists and Conflicts are stored in this folder.
3. Datamodel logs
Windows: C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Kubus\DataModel\BCZ
Mac: /Users/<user name>/Library/Preferences/Kubus/DataModel/BCZ

Adjusting folder permissions (Windows)
To ensure the correct permissions are set:
Right-click the folder.
Select Properties > Security.
Click Edit and modify the permissions as follows:
Allow Full Control for the logged-in user (where applicable).
Ensure at least Read & Execute access for all users.
Click Apply and then OK.
Adjusting folder permissions (MacOS)
To modify folder permissions on MacOS:
Open Finder and navigate to the folder.
Right-click the folder and choose Get Info.
Under Sharing & Permissions, ensure the logged-in user has Read & Write privileges.
