Smart Views can be shared in a project by using the shared folder and by connecting to a BIMcollab space and project. Once created, the Smart Views in the shared folder are visible to all project team members and can be used to perform their model checks.
💡 Tip: Smart Views created in BIMcollab Zoom can be accessed and applied to the models in the BIMcollab WebViewer. This is explained in more detail later in the article.
Share Smart Views
User rights and license requirements
Access to the shared Smart Views folder depends on a user’s permissions in the BIMcollab project.
Users with a BIMcollab Zoom license and Zoom edit rights can create, edit, and run Smart Views from the Shared folder.
Users without Zoom edit rights will see the Shared folder in read-only mode.
These users can run Smart Views but cannot create or edit them.
Sharing Smart Views
Smart Views can be easily shared with team members within a project by following these steps:
Start BIMcollab Zoom application.
Connect to the correct space and project.
Select the Smart Views panel.
Drag and drop the Smart View(s) you wish to share from 'Local' to 'Shared', or create them directly in 'Shared'.

Using Shared Smart Views
In BIMcollab Zoom
All Smart Views placed in the Shared folder are available to all team members connected to that BIMcollab project.
This means team members can use the predefined Smart Views, making it easier to run consistent model checks and saving time because team members don’t have to create the same views themselves.
In the WebViewer
⚠️ Attention: Running Smart Views in the WebViewer is not available in all tiers. To check if it’s included in your subscription, review the Tier comparison list or contact your admin.
Shared Smart Views can also be used in the BIMcollab WebViewer. The Smart Views from the shared folder are automatically shared to the WebViewer.
Users can run the shared Smart Views directly in the browser, without opening BIMcollab Zoom, making it accessible to all project stakeholders.
