Smart Views created and shared in BIMcollab Zoom can be applied in the BIMcollab WebViewer. This allows users to run predefined Smart View checks on models directly in the browser, without opening BIMcollab Zoom. This makes Smart Views model validation accessible to all project stakeholders.
⚠️ Attention:
Smart Views in the WebViewer are read-only. They can only be created or edited in BIMcollab Zoom.
Running Smart Views in the WebViewer is not available in all tiers. To check if it’s included in your subscription, review the Tier comparison list or contact your admin.
Sharing Smart Views in Zoom
Smart Views become automatically available in the WebViewer when they are placed in the Shared Smart Views folder in BIMcollab Zoom.
Drag an existing Smart View from the Local folder into the Shared Smart Views folder, or
Create a new Smart View directly in the Shared Smart Views folder.
To share Smart Views, the user must:
Have a BIMcollab MQA (Nexus) license, and
Have Zoom editing rights in the BIMcollab Space.
Using Smart Views
The Smart Views panel is available at the Project level in the WebViewer (not on Phase level). It displays Smart Views from the Shared Smart Views folder in BIMcollab Zoom.
Once shared, the Smart View becomes available to all users in the WebViewer. All users with access to the BIMcollab can run Smart Views in the WebViewer, including users without a BIMcollab Zoom license or Zoom editing rights.
To access the Smart Views panel:
Navigate to your project.
Open the Model tab.
Open the Smart Views panel (shown only if the shared Smart Views are already available in BIMcollab Zoom).
Double-click on a Smart View from the list to apply it to the current view.
💡 Tip: The Smart Views panel is only available at the Project level, but Smart Views affect all models currently displayed in the viewer.
Models from both the Project level and the active Phase (if applicable) are federated and shown in the navigation panel. When a Smart View is run, the rules can be applied to any displayed models.
❗ Warning: Smart Views only work on models that contain the properties used in the Smart View rules. If the required properties are not present in the model, the Smart View may not return any results.
