BIMcollab offers a connected BIM workflow where teams can collaborate on models, documents, and issues in one environment. With the BIMcollab trial, you can explore the complete workflow for 30 days.
What’s included in the trial?
The BIMcollab Trial gives you access to a connected BIM workflow in one integrated experience. This includes:
30-day access to BIMcollab Basic subscription: Try out all included features in the Basic Subscription in your BIMcollab space for 30 days.
25 BIMcollab licenses: Assign licenses to up to 25 team members so they can collaborate with you on your trial project.
A BIMcollab Zoom single license: This license will be assigned to the admin who requests the trial. You can later reassign this license to any team members so they can use it for model checking and Smart Issue workflows.
Step 1: Set up a trial
To start a BIMcollab trial, you'll need a BIMcollab ID, which is your overarching account used across our entire platform.
How to create a new space and start a BIMcollab trial:
Navigate to the space creation webpage.
Eenter your email address.
-If you already have a BIMcollab ID, to log in with your password.-If you've forgotten your password, click on Forgot Password.
-If you don't yet have a BIMcollab ID, follow the sign-up steps to create one.
After logging in or signing up, you will be directed to a page to choose the space name for your new BIMcollab trial space.
Ensure the space name is unique and does not contain any unsupported characters. Otherwise, you may receive a message stating, "The trial space name is unavailable" or "Invalid trial space name".
Click on Request your trial space.
In this step, you would see a page that states: We are preparing your space...
After a few minutes, once the process is fully completed, you will get an email in your mailbox that your Trial space is ready.
Now you can log in to your new Trial space to begin your 30-day trial.
As the creator of the space, you will automatically be assigned:
The Administrator role. This means that you can set up the project and add or invite team members.
The Project Leader role for the example project.
A BIMcollab Zoom license, which you will recieve a separate email about. You can later choose to assign this Zoom license to your team members.
Step 2: Create a new project
To start a new project, click on the New project button in the upper right-hand corner of the My Projects tab.
When the project has been created, configure additional project settings like the start and end date of the project, invite Team members, and other properties for the project.
Within the project, team members can have different roles. Project leaders and editors (for issues) can create, edit, and respond to communication around your model.
📝 Note: Learn more about roles, see Which roles are available within the BIMcollab environment.
You will also find an example BIMcollab project that has already been created in this space, with default values for issue properties and example desktop resources like Smart Views, Lists, and Clash Rules. This test project does not contain any models or issues, so you can populate it with your own models and issues.
If you don't have a model to upload then you can download one from these example projects and templates.
Step 3: Invite your team members
By default, only the user who started the trial will be assigned a BIMcollab license and the included Zoom licenses. To give access to other team members, as an Administrator, you can assign licenses from the User page.
Here, you can also switch the user who has access to the Zoom license.
