Your 30-day BIMcollab trial includes:
A BIMcollab space: the online platform where your team manages models, issues, documents, and project information.
A floating BIMcollab Zoom license: the desktop application for viewing and checking BIM models.
By adding Zoom to your trial, you can review BIM models, detect conflicts and perform other model-quality validation, and synchronize your issues with your BIMcollab project. This lets you experience the complete model-coordination workflow during your 30 day trial.
Once you create your space, you will receive a separate email confirming that a BIMcollab Zoom license has been assigned to your account.
Download and install BIMcollab Zoom
Download the latest version of BIMcollab Zoom.
2. Install the application on your computer.
3. Open BIMcollab Zoom.
4. Sign in using the same BIMcollab account you use for your trial space.
For more information about signing in, see Set up BIMcollab Zoom.
Activate your Zoom license
A license gives your account permission to use BIMcollab Zoom’s full functionality. After you sign in, BIMcollab Zoom automatically detects and activates the Zoom license assigned to your account.
💡 Tip: License not activated? See Retrieving a BIMcollab Zoom license for troubleshooting instructions.
If the license is not activated automatically, retrieve it manually using the instructions below.
How the trial's Zoom license works
Your Trial Space includes a Floating Zoom license. This means you can share the license with up to four users. However, only one user at a time can use the license in BIMcollab Zoom.
A space administrator must first give these users a Zoom license, which also adds them to the Zoom pool. When someone closes BIMcollab Zoom, the license is released so another user in the pool can retrieve it. A user can also release the license without closing Zoom from the license settings.
The next time an eligible user opens Zoom and connects to the trial space, the application will automatically try to retrieve the available license.
Assign the Zoom license to other team members
The person who created the BIMcollab trial space receives the Zoom license by default. After adding other people to the trial space, a space administrator can make up to four users eligible to retrieve the shared license. Once you've added your team members as users to your BIMcollab trial, you can then assign them a license, which will automatically add them to the Zoom pool.
To assign Zoom license to users:
Log in to your BIMcollab space as an administrator.
Go to the Administration dashboard by clicking on the gear icon in the top-right corner and select the option Space Administration.
Go to the Users tab and find the users.
Enable the Zoom toggle in the user overview.
The new assigned team member will then receive an email about the license assignment and other instructions on how to download and sign in to BIMcollab Zoom.
Start exploring BIMcollab Zoom
Once your license is active, open a model and try one of the workflows included in your trial:
Review federated BIM models.
Run model-validation checks.
Detect conflicts between model components.
Synchronize issues with your BIMcollab space.
