Common causes and solutions

There are two main reasons why you may encounter an invalid password message:


1. Forgot your password?

If you have forgotten your password, follow these steps to reset it:

  • Navigate to your BIMcollab login webpage.

  • Click on “Forgot your password?”

  • Enter your registered email address.

  • Follow the instructions in the email you receive to set a new password.

Ensure that you check your spam or junk folder if you do not receive a password reset email within a few minutes.



2. Using the wrong credentials: BIMcollab ID vs. Space account

BIMcollab has different login credentials depending on the tool you are using. Using the wrong credentials is a common cause of login issues.

  • If you mistakenly try to log in with your Space Account credentials instead of your BIMcollab ID, you will receive an "Invalid Password" error.

  • If you recently reset your password but still cannot log in, ensure that you reset the password for the correct account type. Resetting your Space Account password does not affect your BIMcollab ID, and vice versa.

  • To reset your BIMcollab ID password, visit: my.bimcollab.com.

  • To reset your space account password, visit your company space. For example: company.bimcollab.com

Understanding BIMcollab ID vs. Space Account

BIMcollab ID

Your BIMcollab ID is an overarching account, based on your email address, which is used to identify you within the BIMcollab Ecosystem. It contains your personal information and can only be accessed by you.


When Is a BIMcollab ID Created?

Your BIMcollab ID is automatically created when:

  • You are added to a BIMcollab Space and do not yet have an existing BIMcollab ID.

  • You request a BIMcollab Zoom license trial.


When to Use a BIMcollab ID?

Use your BIMcollab ID to log in when accessing:

  • BCF Managers (Initial Login)

  • BIMcollab Zoom (Initial Login)

  • BIMcollab Nexus Trial Spaces and Zoom Trials

  • BIMcollab Zoom license without Nexus space

  • BIMcollab Academy


Space Account

A Space account is exclusive to the private BIMcollab space to which you are assigned.


When Is a Space Account Created?

Your Space Account is automatically created when:

  • You are added to a private BIMcollab space.


When to Use a Space Account?

Use your Space Account to log in when:

  • Accessing each private company space in BIMcollab Nexus.

  • Connecting to your company’s space in BCF Managers.

  • Connecting to your company’s space in BIMcollab Zoom.
