Why aren't all issue properties available in Solibri?

Learn which BIMcollab issue properties the BCF Live Connector supports and where to find the properties that are not synchronized.

BIMcollab issues include BCF standard properties, plus additional BIMcollab-specific properties that make issue management easier. When BIMcollab is connected to Solibri through the BCF Live Connector, Solibri only reads properties that are part of the BCF standard.

Why this happens

Every issue in BIMcollab is based on the BCF (BIM Collaboration Format) standard. BCF defines a fixed set of fields, such as title, status, priority, and assigned user, that any BCF-compatible tool can read and write.

BIMcollab extends that standard with extra fields to make issue management easier for your team, including:

  • Area groups issues by location. You can assign an owner to an area so that issues in that area are assigned to that person automatically, unless another user is specified.

  • Custom fields capture information specific to your project or organization.

Neither Area nor custom fields are part of the BCF standard, so they only exist in BIMcollab.

Why Solibri doesn't show these fields

When you connect your issue management workflow from BIMcollab to Solibri, the connection runs through Solibri's BCF Live Connector. This connector pulls issues and their data into Solibri, but it only reads fields defined in the BCF standard. Because Area and custom fields fall outside that standard, Solibri has no way to receive or display them.

Where this data is still available

The information isn't missing, it stays in your BIMcollab environment. You can still work with Area and custom fields in:

  • BIMcollab

  • BIMcollab Zoom

  • Any BCF Manager created by BIMcollab, since these are built to work with BIMcollab's full field set, not only the BCF standard.
