This article explains the difference between the Solibri issue number ("No.") and the BIMcollab index number ("Index") assigned during synchronization. Since these numbers are generated by different systems and under different rules, they can differ.
Solibri Number vs BIMcollab Index
Solibri Number
Displayed as as "No." in the BCF Live View, this is the number of the issue in your Solibri project.
BIMcollab Index
The BIMcollab issue number is displayed as "Index" in the BCF Live View and is the number issues receive once they have been synchronised from Solibri to BIMcollab.
BIMcollab assigns a number to all issues. This number is based on the order in which they are created, published or imported from all connected applications. Therefore, it's recommended that you primarily work with the index number from BIMcollab in your project.
📝 Note: Bear in mind that you may not see all issues from BIMcollab due to confidential settings or issues that have been previously deleted. This means that the sequence may have gaps when you view it. Synchronisation ensures that your issues get the correct index number, depending on the next available number in BIMcollab.
BCF live connector
This is a screenshot of the BCF Live Connector in Solibri. The highlighted issue is currently being synchronised from Solibri to BIMcollab, as indicated by the synchronisation icon. The No. column shows the Solibri issue number and the Index column shows the BIMcollab issue number. If the sync is not finished, the sync status column will display the sync icon and the index column will be empty. Once synced with BIMcollab, the issue will receive an index number. Because Solibri and BIMcollab numbers are assigned by two different applications, these numbers can be different, as shown in the example image above.
📝 Note: If you lose the connection to BIMcollab, the index nr. will be synced when the connection is restored. Because the synchronization will pick up where it was left off, you can keep working in Solibri without problems.
