Latest solutions: Replacing models creates duplicates

Updated over 3 months ago

When replacing models in WebViewer, some users may encounter a situation where their models are unexpectedly duplicated. These duplicate models appear under the [No tag] category in the model tree, and are visible in both WebViewer and Zoom.

Solution

To resolve this issue, users need to manually remove both the original model and the duplicate models before re-uploading the correct version.

  1. Go to the WebViewer tab.

  2. In the Navigation panel, identify the duplicate models, one in the [Tag] group and the other in the [No tag] group.

  3. Remove both of the duplicate models.

    • For example, remove (1) 02_BIMcollab_Example_STR under the [Group A] tag, and also (2) the duplicate with the same name under [No tag].

  4. Re-upload the correct version of the model.

💡 Tip:
How to delete a model: Hover over each model name to reveal a menu icon with three dots, which provides an option to remove the model.

To remove multiple models at the same time, select the models by holding down the Ctrl key for individual selections or Shift key for consecutive selections. Then, from the three dots menu of any of the selected models, select the Remove option.

For non-duplicated models, no action is required. Removing and re-uploading only applies to users who see duplicates or models under [No tag].
