Get started with BCF Manager Tekla Structures

This Quick Start Guide describes the basic online workflow of the BCF Manager for Tekla. It will get you up and running in no time.

Online workflow BCF Manager

  1. Start Tekla Structures

  2. Load the model(s) for which you want to create or review issues in Tekla

  3. Go to the right side of the screen and click on the "Applications & Components" button

  4. Type 'BCF' in the search window

  5. Double click the BCF icon to open the BCF Manager pop-up window


    If you are a first time user, then first Activate your BCF Manager.

  6. Connect to a project on BIMcollab from the BCF Manager (1)

  7. If there are already issues present in the project you connect to, they will be displayed in the issue list (2)

  8. Create new issues manually (3)

  9. Select issues in the issue list to see its details (4)

  10. When an issue is selected, you can quick edit it (5) or add a new comment to it (6)

  11. Double click the issue to zoom to its viewpoint in the model in Tekla

  12. When you have made all the necessary changes, synchronize the project to BIMcollab, to share the issues with your team members (7)

⚠️ Attention: If the BCF manager icon is not visible, please try the procedure one more time after restarting Tekla Structures.

  1. Import and save a BCF file

  2. Synchronize project

  3. Search

  4. Edit, create or delete an issue

  5. BCF options

  6. Name of project you are connected to

  7. Active filter and Filter issues

  8. Issue list

  9. Add viewpoint to the selected comment (only visible when comment is selected)

  10. Edit snapshot of the selected comment (only visible when comment is selected)

  11. Delete viewpoint of the selected comment (only visible when comment is selected)

  12. Viewpoint information

  13. Show snapshot of the selected issue or comment

  14. When an issue is selected: Description of the issue
    When a comment is selected: Edit the selected comment

  15. Snapshot of the selected issue or comment

  16. Quick edit of the selected issue

  17. Add a comment

  18. View comments of the selected issue

  19. View details of the selected issue

  20. Comment or details of the selected issue
