Get the most out of the BCF Managers

What can you do with the BCF Managers which are available? We have an ever increasing amount of BCF managers. Download the manager you need here. Here is an overview of the possibilities:

Open/Save BCF files

Our BCF Managers add full BCF capabilities to your BIM tool:

  • Load/save BCF files (1.0, 2.0 and 2.1)

  • Create issues linked to the 3D model

  • Viewpoints with: selected objects / visible objects / no objects

  • Automatically zoom to the viewpoints saved in issues

  • Assign issues to users, set labels, type and priority

  • Add comments, track history

  • Open, resolve or close issues

Lookup issues to solve

Mostly as a modeler you receive issues found in Clash-detection software:

  • Filter on issue properties or search for certain text

  • Automatically zoom to issues in the context of the model to get them solved

  • Show viewpoint details like the number of visible/selected objects, cutting planes

Or make issues yourself:

  • Take snapshots from the 3D view, load snapshots or photos from file and edit snapshots

  • Make issues of 2D views

  • Zoom in on snapshot-images

Connect to BIMcollab

Working with BCF files is the first step of issue management. The real power starts when you connect to BIMcollab.

All BCF Managers also support:

  • Direct link to a BIMcollab project

  • BIM issue management

  • Use additional properties such as Area

  • Have issues approved by your managers, team members or customers

  • Notify team members of any changes made to the issues

  • Synchronize issues from and to BIMcollab with one click

  • Publish all or selected issues

Using Revit, Archicad or Tekla with BIMcollab

We continuously extend the number of BCF Managers for BIM tools. They add the support for a direct link to a BIMcollab project. The BCF Manager add-ons allow the project team to collaborate on the issues in their own BIM environment. Reporting back when issues are resolved can be done with one click, so everyone is up to date with the actual project and issue status.

Working with BIMcollab from your modeling application.

Connecting to a BIMcollab project gives you access from your BIM application to all issues in the project. By clicking the issues you can quickly zoom-to and edit all issues in your BIM model. Next to viewing existing issues you can also create new issues. Add a title, description, assignment and comment, and publish them to BIMcollab.

BIMcollab gives you additional options not supported by BCF such as assigning issues to specific Area’s and Milestones, notifying team members as well as having issues formally approved. Working with the BCF Manager is straightforward and easy. Follow these steps to experience it for yourself:

  1. Open the BCF Manager

  2. Connect to your BIMcollab project by inserting the web address and your credentials

  3. View and edit issues in the project or create new issues

  4. Publish your changes

Working with BCF files from your modeling application.

The BIM Collaboration Format, or BCF, is an open standard file format which can be used to communicate issues with a BIM project team. The BIMcollab BCF Managers are fully compatible with this standard and can provide full BCF support within your BIM applications.

To quickly get started working with BCF files simply follow these four steps:

  1. Open the BCF Manager

  2. Import your BCF file

  3. Edit issues and create new ones

  4. Export your modifications to a new BCF file
