Quick Start Guide BCF Manager Revit

This Quick Start Guide describes the basic online workflow of the BCF Manager for Revit. It will get you up and running in no time.

If you have not yet installed it, download and install the BCF Manager for Revit here.

Online workflow BCF Manager

  1. Start Revit
  2. Load the model(s) for which you want to create or review issues in Revit
  3. Choose the BIMcollab tab in the ribbon
  4. Click on the BCF Manager icon to open the BIMcollab BCF Manager pop-up window


    If you are a first time user, you first need to login with your BIMcollab ID.

  5. Create a View Template in Revit, to determine the view settings when zooming to issues from the BCF Manager
  6. Connect to a project on BIMcollab Nexus from the BCF Manager



  7. If there are already issues present in the project you connect to, they will be displayed in the issue list



  8. Check the settings of the BCF manager to align with your IFC export coordination settings

  9. Create new issues manually



  10. Select issues in the issue list and see its details
  11. When an issue is selected, you can quick edit it, or add a new comment to it



  12. Double click the issue to zoom to its viewpoint in the model in Revit
  13. When you have made all the necessary changes, synchronize the project to BIMcollab Nexus, to share the issues with your team members

The BCF Manager window


  1. New offline project
  2. Import and save a BCF file
  3. Connect to a project on BIMcollab Nexus
  4. Synchronize the project
  5. Open the IDS specification panel (appears after connecting to a private BIMcollab Nexus space)
  6. Display settings issues list
  7. Search
  8. Edit, create or delete an issue
  9. BCF manager options: Settings, Info, Help
  10. Name of the project you are connected to
  11. Active filter and Filter issues
  12. Issue list
  13. Create a section box around selected elements
  14. Zoom-to options
  15. Viewpoint information
  16. Show snapshot of the selected issue larger
  17. When an issue is selected: Description of the issue
  18. Snapshot of the selected issue
  19. Quick edit of the selected issue
  20. Add a comment
  21. View comments of the selected issue
  22. View details of the selected issue
  23. Comments or details of the selected issue
When a comment is selected instead of an issue, on the bottom half of the window, you get a few more icons for editing and viewing comments:

  1. Add viewpoint to the selected comment
  2. Edit snapshot of the selected comment
  3. Delete viewpoint of the selected comment
  4. Edit the text of the selected comment here
  5. Snapshot of the selected comment
