Set up BIMcollab Zoom

Free vs Full license mode

BIMcollab Zoom has two operating modes:

  • Free mode which provides IFC viewing and basic issue management. Once you have downloaded the Zoom desktop application, your session will always start in Free mode.

  • Full license mode which unlocks advanced features such as model checking, quantity take-offs, IDS validation, Smart Issues and more.
    If you have a Zoom license, you can activate it in the steps explained below and unlock all the features that BIMcollab Zoom has to offer.


Setup BIMcollab Zoom

The setup process for the Zoom desktop application is identical in both Free and Full license modes, up to the point where you need to retrieve the license.

Step 1: Open BIMcollab Zoom

When you first open BIMcollab Zoom after downloading, you will be prompted to log in with your BIMcollab ID.


If you do not have a BIMcollab ID yet, you can create one under this link as well.

⚠️ Attention: Once you have done this, you can start using the free version of BIMcollab Zoom.

Step 2: Start your BIM workflow

Step 3: Retrieve your Full license

If you have access to a Full license, you can unlock all features of BIMcollab Zoom by retrieving the BIMcollab Zoom license.
