With each new release of BIMcollab Zoom, improvements are often made to the way properties are structured. These enhancements are specifically designed to support Information Delivery Specification (IDS) workflows and model checking, offering users more advanced and efficient capabilities.
However, these updates may introduce compatibility limitations: resources such as smart views, clash rules, lists, and smart properties created or modified in newer versions may not be accessible in older versions of the application.
To ensure smooth collaboration and uninterrupted access to shared project data, it’s important that all team members upgrade to the same BIMcollab version.
⚠️ Attention: If you change a rule in a set, the whole set is upgraded to a new version and cannot be used in an older version of BIMcollab Zoom.
When team members use different versions of BIMcollab Zoom, collaboration can be disrupted. If some users upgrade to the latest version while others continue using an older version, shared resources may become inaccessible or read-only for those on the older version.
For example, when resources such as Smart Views, Clash Rules, Lists, or Smart Properties are created or modified using the newer version, users on the older version will not be able to access or edit them. Instead, they will see an error message like the one shown below:
Upgrade for all the team members
Upgrading to the latest version of BIMcollab Zoom ensures your team can fully benefit from the latest features and improvements, particularly in property structuring and model checking.
To maintain seamless collaboration, we recommend that administrators and team leaders coordinate a collective upgrade across the team. This way, all team members will have full access to shared resources, and newly upgraded elements will be compatible for everyone involved.
