BIMcollab Zoom shared resources (Smart Views, Smart Issues, Lists, and Smart Properties) are tools that help teams work more consistently when reviewing and checking BIM models. Smart Views make it easy to highlight or filter parts of the model based on certain rules, like showing all walls without fire ratings. Smart Issues link directly to model elements and can automatically update when the model changes. Lists are used to extract information from the model, such as quantities or property values. Smart Properties help standardize data by combining or renaming properties from different models. When these tools are shared through a private BIMcollab Space, everyone on the team can use the same setup, which helps keep coordination clear and organized.
BIMcollab Zoom v9.0 update added some new features to all shared resources which includes Smart Views, Conflict Rules and Lists. Please refer to our release notes for more information. As such, these improvements are not compatible with older versions of BIMcollab Zoom, as older versions do not support the change.
Version Compatibility for Shared Resources

To prevent potential corruption of shared resources due to version discrepancies among team members, resources will become read-only in older versions. This measure ensures the integrity of shared data.
Forward Compatibility: Existing shared resources created in previous versions (e.g., v6.8) are compatible with BIMcollab Zoom v9.0. For example, a Smart View set created in v6.8 can seamlessly be used in v9.0.
Backward Compatibility: Shared resources created or edited in v9.0 may not be usable in older versions of BIMcollab Zoom (e.g., v6.8). For instance, a List Set created in v9.0 will not be accessible in v6.8.
