Collaborating with team members in a BIMcollab project can be expanded by using our model validation desktop application. The rules and resources to perform model validation or data extraction can be shared easily with others. These shared resources can be viewed on BIMcollab via the "Checking" tab. They can also be viewed and used on the BIMcollab Zoom after connecting to a BIMcollab online project.
💡 Tip: In addition to resources in the Checking tab, from the Model tab shared Smart Views can also be used in the BIMcollab WebViewer to run predefined model checks directly in the browser.
Learn more about it: Smart Views in the WebViewer.
What does the Checking tab contain?
Specification - for property validation (IDS)
Smart properties - to classify and restructure model data
Smart views - for model insight and validation
Clash rules - to perform clash detection
Lists - for model data extraction
⚠️ Attention:
To edit or remove the shared resources, you should open BIMcollab Zoom and make the desired change (only if you have edit rights).
However, the 'Specifications' are edited, removed, or added on a BIMcollab web space and only by the project leaders.
Specification setup for your project on a BIMcollab space is a necessary step before starting any IDS property validation in BIMcollab Zoom. Follow this article to create an IDS.
