Retrieve a Zoom license

Retrieve a Zoom license

When a BIMcollab Zoom license is available for you, you can retrieve the license to make use of Zoom's full potential.
There are three different license types (named company licenses, floating company licenses or a personal license), which can be retrieved in two different ways:

Named and floating company licenses

Company licenses can either be Floating or Named: Both licensing types are connected to a private space.
  1. Floating licenses can be shared among four users. One user at a time can retrieve the BIMcollab Zoom license.
  2. Named licenses are assigned to one specific user. This user can always retrieve the BIMcollab Zoom license.
To be able to use these BIMcollab Zoom licenses, an administrator of your private space needs to assign the license or add you to the license pool.
You can find more information on how to manage BIMcollab Zoom licenses as an administrator in the article Manage BIMcollab Zoom licenses in BIMcollab

Windows

  1. Go to: Extra > Settings > Licensing
  2. Under 'License type', select 'Company license'
  3. In the field 'BIMcollab', fill out the URL of your private space
  4. Fill out your login credentials for the space
  5. Click on 'Obtain' to retrieve the license

MacOS

  2. In the field 'BIMcollab', fill out the URL of your private space
  3. Fill out your login credentials for the space
  4. Click on 'Obtain' to retrieve the license

When you obtain a license, it will be available to you as long as you are using BIMcollab Zoom. When you close BIMcollab Zoom, the license will be automatically released, and will be available for other users in the license pool, as long as you have not borrowed the license.
If at any given time you need to relinquish your license without closing BIMcollab Zoom or before the borrowing period is over. The license can be released via the licensing settings.
The next time you open BIMcollab Zoom, it will automatically try to retrieve a license from the space you retrieved the license from the first time.

Personal licenses

If you have a Personal license, the license is connected to your BIMcollab ID and not to a private space.

  2. Connect to your free project on join.bimcollab.com, as explained in the article Connect to BIMcollab Nexus from BCF managers or BIMcollab Zoom

  2. Select the use of a personal license. Under 'License type', select 'Personal license'
