  2. From the 'issue' menu (3 horizontal lines behind the issues) , choose 'Edit Issue'

  3. You can also click on the issue to view an overview of its details. Click on the 'Edit Issue' button on the top right to change the details.

  4. On the issue details page, it's possible to perform some quick modifications without clicking on the 'edit issue' icon. You can add comments in the comments dialog and include team members for notification purposes (1), or change the issue's status (2).

  5. After clicking on the 'Edit Issue' button, you will have the option to change all the necessary details.

  6. After completing all the edits, save the changes by clicking on the checkmark or disregard the changes by clicking on the 'x' to cancel.

Model page

It is also possible to add comments and edit issues from the Model page of your project while viewing the issues in the models. There is an issue panel in this page that allows the user to create or edit issues.

BIMcollab Zoom and the BCF Managers

Adding a comment and editing an issue from the BIMcollab Zoom or the BCF Manager can be done as follows:

  1. Connect to the correct space and project.

  2. Select the issue you wish to comment on from the list.

  3. Click on the Edit issue pencil.

  4. Add your comments in the dialog. If necessary, you can add team members to the notify list or change other issue properties.

  5. If you want to add a new viewpoint to the issue, click on the 'camera' button to add the active 3D view. You can also insert a snapshot from a folder on your computer by clicking the 'image' button, or from the clipboard by clicking the 'clipboard' button.

  6. If you only want to add a comment without making any changes to the other issue properties, click on the '+' button underneath the comment section.

  7. Type a comment, and notify someone if necessary. If you want to add a new viewpoint to the issue, click on the 'camera' button to add the active 3D view. You can also insert a snapshot from a folder on your computer by clicking the 'image' button, or from the clipboard by clicking the 'clipboard' button.

  8. When you have completed all of your edits, save the issue or the comment and synchronize your changes with BIMcollab.

⚠️ Attention: Maintaining a complete and transparent history of issues is crucial for effective collaboration and accountability. For this reason, comments on issues cannot be deleted when viewed through the BIMcollab web application. This applies to all team member roles.

Exceptions via BIMcollab Applications

Issue comments can only be deleted using the BIMcollab Zoom or BCF Manager but only under the following conditions:

  • The user must be the original author of the comment.

  • The issue must not have been synchronized with the BIMcollab project yet.

Once an issue has been synchronized, all comments become part of the project history and can no longer be removed.

📝 Note:

Which issue properties can I add/modify in the BCF Manager or BIMcollab Zoom?

The BCF Managers or BIMcollab Zoom can edit all issue properties in the same way as in the Web application of BIMcollab.

Note that Area and Approval are not available when working in offline mode with the BCF Managers, as these are not supported by BCF. Milestones and deadlines are supported in BCF 2.1 only.
