Departments and Divisions are categorisation features for the projects in your space, particularly beneficial for large organisations with divisions across multiple countries or within the company. Project leaders can use Divisions to allocate projects to specific sectors. Departments can then further categorise projects, such as by discipline or project type. This structure can also be leveraged for financial purposes, providing a clear overview of the number of active projects and users within each division or department in the BIMcollab space.
Create a Division
Navigate to the Space Administration Tab to access the admin settings.
Click on Projects.
Click on "Divisions" in the top-right corner of the page. This will display a list of Divisions in the project.
Create a New Division by clicking on "New division", enter the desired name, and save. Once a Division is created, you can add Departments to it.
To edit a Division, select the desired Division. Click on "Edit division" to make changes. To return to the list of Divisions, click on "Return to divisions."
Create a Department
Select the Division to which you would like to add a Department
Next, click the "plus" icon to add a new Department.
Enter the name of the Department.
To make changes to the Department, click on "Edit department." To go back to the list of Departments, click on "Return to departments". Here, you can add the relevant projects associated with it.
Add Projects to a Department

📝 Note: Projects can only be attached to a department within a devision. So make sure you have departments before you add your projects.
Select the Department to which you want to add projects.
Click on the "plus" icon to add a project to the Department.
Search for and select the project(s) to add from the dropdown menu. Click "Add" to add the projects to the Department.
After the projects have been added, a list of the projects will appear within the Department.

A project leader can change the department the project is linked to from within the project settings
Select the project settings
Go to the 'General' settings
Toggle to the right department in the department dropdown.
