User groups represent subteams within your BIMcollab project, for example, project discipline groups like architects, engineers, subcontractors, etc.
This enables project leaders to:
Make confidential or group-specific issues visible only to selected groups.
Limit issue assignment to team members who share the same group.
⚠️ Attention: This feature is not available on all tiers. To check if it’s included in your subscription, review the feature comparison list on the pricing page or contact your admin. If the feature isn’t available, you may need to upgrade your tier.
Using groups to control issue visibility
User groups affect issue visibility only when the Visible for field is enabled for the project. Project leaders can choose to enable the 'Visible for' field for issues in the project.
Once the field is enabled, users can select which groups may see an issue when creating or editing it. Team members who do not belong to a selected group cannot see the issue.
📝 The creator and the owner of an issue (to which the issue is assigned) can always see the issue.
Even without creating custom groups, users can choose from the following built-in visibility options:
All
Only me
My company
Project leaders
If your project requires more granular visibility, create custom groups and assign users to them.

Create groups and assign team members
Project leaders must create user groups before they can use them in Issue Management.
Create the user groups for your project. For instructions, see Define project properties.
Open the project Settings tab.
Select the Team Membermenu.
Select a team member to edit their settings.
Add the team member to the required group(s). A team member can belong to multiple groups.
A team member can belong to multiple groups, allowing groups to match the way your project is organized.
Limit assignment of issues with user groups
User groups can also be used to limit which team members a user can assign their issues to.
From the project Settings tab, enable the option to 'Only allow to assign issues to members of the team member's usergroup(s)'. When this option is enabled, team members can assign issues to other team members who are part of the same group(s).
Because a team member can be part of multiple groups, they can also assign issues across multiple user groups.
