Using software that does not support BCF

How to work with BIMcollab when there is no integration available from my BIM software and my software does not support BCF.

Updated over 4 months ago

We are constantly working on getting more and more BIM applications connected with BIMcollab. Should you use software that is not yet connected, then your first step should be to ask your software vendor to become an authorized BIMcollab developer. For more information, go to our developer's website.

Communicating issues to the BIM engineer

Using the BIMcollab web application, engineers can find issues, view issue properties, read comments, and separately resolve the issues within their BIM application. Clicking on a thumbnail will display the stored snapshot, allowing users to see the saved image as well as any annotations.

Adding issues to BIMcollab

  1. Create a new issue
In the BIMcollab Web application, create a new issue by going to the Issues page and clicking on the 'New issue' button.

  2. Edit properties
Give the issue a title, description, and set the remaining properties accordingly. Ensure the issue is assigned to the proper team member and, if needed, add team members to the approval list.

  3. Add Images
Using your BIM application, you can often export viewpoints as images, or you can create screenshots. Click on the browse button to select the image and add it to the issue.

  4. Save
Save the issue by clicking on the 'Save' button

📝 Note:
