Create and edit Issues in Navisworks

Updated over 3 months ago

With the BCF Manager for Navisworks, you can connect to a BIMcollab project and exchange issues directly.

Create issues

You have different options for creating issues. Choose the workflow you prefer:

  1. By importing clashes from the Clash Detective

  2. By importing saved viewpoints to create issues

  3. Manually create issues

Create issues by importing clashes from the Clash Detective

Clashes found in the Clash Detective should be imported directly into the BCF Manager. The BCF Manager will automatically link the original clash to the issue. When the status of the clash in Navisworks changes, the linked issue can be updated.

To create issues from clashes, click the Import button, and choose 'From Clash Results'.

📝 Note: For more information, consult the article How to transfer Clash test results from the Clash Detective to BIMcollab.

⚠️ Warning: IFC GUIDs in models appended from Autodesk Construction Cloud via the Coordination add-in may differ from those generated by the BCF Manager. This is caused by the conversion method used during the append process and can result in issues not being linked to the correct components.

👉 To prevent this, please avoid using this model loading method.

Create Issues from Saved Viewpoints

Another way to create issues in Navisworks is by using 'Saved Viewpoints'. These are viewpoints created in Navisworks during a manual check of the model.

To create issues from the Saved Viewpoints, click the Import button, and choose 'From Saved Viewpoints'.

📝 Note: For more information consult the article How to transfer Saved Viewpoints to BIMcollab.
