Using software not integrated with BIMcollab

Using software not integrated with BIMcollab

We are constantly working on getting more and more BIM applications connected with BIMcollab. Should you use software which is not yet connected, then your first step should be to ask your software vendor to become an authorized BIMcollab developer. For more information go to our developers website.

Communicating issues to the BIM application

  1. Select your issues
In BIMcollab Nexus you can use the filters and the selection boxes to choose which issues you wish to communicate. To do this, go to the 'Issues' page of your project, and click on 'Filter' to show the filter menu.

  2. Create a BCF report
After selecting the desired issues, click on the 'Report' button on the Issues page.
In the Report dialog, choose BCF as the type of file you want to create, and click on 'Create report'.

  3. Download
Once created you can download the file from the Reports page.

  4. Distribute
You can share the file with your team members using any means available to you including using a file server, as a mail attachment, via the cloud (dropbox, one drive, google drive).
  5. Open the file
Open or import the BCF file into the application. Any properties which are not known to your application will not be imported.

Adding issues from the BIM application to BIMcollab

  1. Create Issues
Create or edit one or more issues in your BIM application.
  2. Create a BCF file
Save as or Export the issues you wish to manage to a BCF file.
  3. Import
In BIMcollab Nexus go to the Import page, browse to the file and then use the import function to upload the BCF file. If necessary select default properties to add to the issues when missing.

Tip the developers and send them to our registration website to develop a connection.
