First-time startup
When you open BIMcollab Zoom or a BCF Manager for the first time, you will be prompted to log in using your BIMcollab ID.
This is an overarching BIMcollab account based on your email address, which is used to identify you within the entire BIMcollab ecosystem. It’s separate from any login you might use to access private BIMcollab project spaces.
After login, you will be able to start using BIMcollab Zoom ot the BCF Manager. The login is valid for 30 days, and is automatically renewed when you open the application within that timeframe. If you haven't opened a BIMcollab application in over 30 days, you will be asked to log in again the next time you start it.
📝 Note: Once you have activated BIMcollab Zoom or a BCF Manager, you can then proceed to connect to your BIMcollab project and/or retrieve a BIMcollab Zoom license.
Troubleshooting
“Incorrect password” message
You might have entered a password you use to access a private BIMcollab space, instead of your BIMcollab ID.
❗ Warning: The password for your BIMcollab ID can differ from your private BIMcollab space password.
Enter your BIMcollab ID password, or click 'Forgot your password?'.
You can also manage your BIMcollab ID account via https://my.bimcollab.com
You do not yet have a BIMcollab ID
When you enter your email address, BIMcollab Zoom / the BCF Manager will automatically recognize whether a BIMcollab ID already exists for that address. If no ID is found, you will be redirected to a window where you can immediately create a new account.
No internet connection
For activation, you must be connected to the internet. If BIMcollab Zoom or the BCF Manager cannot connect to the internet, it will automatically start in free mode.
If your internet connection runs through a proxy server, you can enter your proxy settings by going to:
BIMcollab Zoom:
BCF Managers: BCF Manager settings
In the settings window, activate 'Enable proxy server', and enter the proxy settings. If necessary, contact your IT administrator for more information.
Once BIMcollab Zoom / the BCF Manager has access to the internet, you will be asked to log in the next time the application is started.
