Trimble Connect is a project collaboration platform for the construction industry. You can connect your BIMcollab workflow seamlessly with your Trimble Connect workflow on 2 locations.
In the cloud: Integrate Trimble Connect with BIMcollab to view the models stored in Trimble Connect in the Model WebViewer in your online BIMcollab project and create your issues in BIMcollab.
On your desktop: Use Trimble Connect sync to synchronize your models to your desktop, making them available in BIMcollab Zoom to view, check and report Smart Issues.

📝 Note: The Trimble Connect viewer in BIMcollab is based on the internal Trimble Connect modelviewer
Set up the integration in your BIMcollab account
This step can only be performed by the Project leader of a project. If you are a team member, skip to the next step.
Log into BIMcollab
Select one of the projects of which you are a Project leader
Go to the Settings page of the project
Click 'Integration'
Select 'Trimble Connect' as your integration
Click 'Sign in'
Complete the Trimble Connect sign-in process
Select the appropriate region and project
Select the file types you want to make available in the integration, only files of these types will be available to choose in the model selection
Click OK
The Trimble Connect folder is now integrated into the BIMcollab project. In the next step, you can choose which models from the Trimble Connect folder will be displayed in the Model tab of the project.
Choose the models
This step is for every team member of the project. Users can choose themselves which of the project's models they want to display in the model tab.
Go to the Model tab of the project in which the Trimble Connect integration was set up.
The first time you go to the Model tab after the integration was configured, the model selection window will automatically pop up.
On the left side, all folders and models of the project, matching the selected file types, are shown. Select all models you want to display.
Click on the arrow button to add the selected models to the view.
Once all desired models are added to the 'Selected models' list, click OK.
If you want to change or add models to the list of selected models, click on the
'add or change models' button in the top right corner of the model viewer.
All selected models will be shown as a combined model in the Model tab. Use the model viewer functionalities to further filter the model and define its appearance.
💡 Tip: To customize the display of elements such as spaces or background color for the model viewer in BIMcollab, use the viewer settings option in the Trimble Connect viewer. Changes are also applied to BIMcollab.
You can zoom to issues in the model and create new issues from the issue panel on the left side of the screen.
BIMcollab Zoom integration
To show the models that are saved in Trimble Connect in BIMcollab Zoom , you will need to synchronize them to your local machine.
This can be done with Trimble Connect Sync. Once installed, you can find the local file path and load the models into BIMcollab Zoom .
Load the models in BIMcollab Zoom
If you have setup you Sync, you will have the projects also available on your local machine:
For windows: C:\Users\<username>\Trimble\Trimble Connect Sync
for mac: Macintosh HD/Users/Trimble Connect Sync
OR
find the exact location by login in to your Trimble Connect Sync application
- Find the project and click 'Advanced'
There you can find your Local path and click it to go directly to the correct location.
Set the project folder for BIMcollab Zoom to the folder where you synchornize your models from Trimble Connect.
