BIMcollab Zoom hotkey overview

This article is a comprehensive reference guide to all keyboard shortcuts and functions available in BIMcollab Zoom.

🗂️ File Menu

  • Open: Ctrl/Cmd + O
    Tip: Hold Shift while opening to skip loading

  • Add to project: Ctrl/Cmd + M

  • Add only: Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + M

  • Remove from project:

    • Windows: Ctrl + Delete

    • Mac: Cmd + Backspace

  • Save project: Ctrl/Cmd + S


👁️ View Menu

  • Restore View: Ctrl/Cmd + R

  • Show/Hide Floorplans: Alt + F

Show/Hide Components

  • Spaces: Alt + S

  • Walls: Alt + W

  • Slabs: Alt + L

  • Roofs: Alt + R

  • Columns: Alt + C

  • Beams: Alt + B

  • Ceilings: Alt + E

  • Stairs: Alt + T

  • Doors: Alt + D

  • Windows: Alt + I

  • Openings: Alt + O

  • MEP: Alt + M

  • Show All: Alt + A

  • Hide All: Alt + H

  • Show/Hide Selected Component: Spacebar

  • Set Transparent/Opaque (Selected): Ctrl/Cmd + T


🔍 Navigation

  • Zoom to Fit: Home or double-click center mouse button

  • Zoom to Selection: End or double-click in tree

  • Zoom to Area: (no hotkey specified)

View Orientation

  • Look Perpendicular: Ctrl/Cmd + =

  • Front: Ctrl/Cmd + 2

  • Back: Ctrl/Cmd + 8

  • Left: Ctrl/Cmd + 4

  • Right: Ctrl/Cmd + 6

  • Top: Ctrl/Cmd + 5

  • Bottom: Ctrl/Cmd + 0


👁️‍🗨️ My View

  • Show All: Alt + A

  • Show My View: Alt + V

  • Set as My View: = + Alt

  • Add to My View: + + Alt

  • Remove from My View: - + Alt

  • Clear My View: * + Alt


✂️ Sectioning

  • Create Section Plane: Ctrl/Cmd + Alt + P

  • Create Section Box: Ctrl/Cmd + B

  • Delete Selected Section Plane: Delete

  • Select All Section Planes: Ctrl/Cmd + A (when one selected)

  • Delete All Section Planes: Ctrl/Cmd + Delete

  • Suspend Section Planes: Ctrl/Cmd + P

  • Show/Hide All Section Planes: Alt + P

  • Show/Hide Selected Section Plane: Spacebar


✏️ Annotations

  • Line: Ctrl/Cmd + Alt + L

  • Arrow: Ctrl/Cmd + Alt + A

  • Ellipse: Ctrl/Cmd + Alt + E

  • Cloud: Ctrl/Cmd + Alt + C

  • Rectangle: Ctrl/Cmd + Alt + R

  • Text: Ctrl/Cmd + Alt + T

Placement

  • Place in plane: Click on plane

  • Face camera: Shift + Click on plane

  • Delete All Annotations: Ctrl/Cmd + Delete (when one selected)


📏 Dimensioning

  • Create Dimension: Ctrl/Cmd + Alt + M

  • Select Corner/Edge/Surface: Click

  • Clipping Plane Dimensioning: Ctrl/Cmd + Click

  • Point-to-Point Dimensioning: Shift + Click


⚙️ Other Functions

  • Copy (Property): Ctrl/Cmd + C

  • Paste (Search): Ctrl/Cmd + V

  • Open Search Dialog: Ctrl/Cmd + F

  • Next Property Set: Tab

  • Previous Property Set: Shift + Tab


🌲 Tree Views

  • Expand: Right Click on triangle

  • Collapse: Left Click on triangle

  • Navigate: Up, Down, Alt + Up, Alt + Down

Mac-Specific:

  • Expand All from Clicked: Alt + Right or Alt + Click

  • Collapse All from Clicked: Alt + Left or Alt + Click

  • Multi-select: Ctrl/Cmd + Click

  • Range Select: Shift + Click


🧭 General Navigation

  • Zoom In/Out: Scroll wheel

  • Fast Zoom: Alt + Scroll wheel

  • Grow/Shrink Section Box: Ctrl/Cmd + Scroll wheel

Section Plane Movement

  • Move: Click + drag or Ctrl/Cmd + Scroll wheel

  • Rotate (vertical/horizontal):
    Select + Ctrl/Cmd + drag near edge

  • Select Sub-component: Click + Shift


🌐 Orbit Mode

Keyboard

  • Pan: Arrow Keys (+ Shift for faster)

Mouse

  • Rotate: Left button + drag

  • Pan: Shift + Left button drag or Wheel button + drag

Mac Gestures

  • Orbit: Two fingers rotate

  • Zoom: Pinch

  • Fast Zoom: Shift + Alt + pinch

  • Section Box Resize: Ctrl/Cmd + pinch


🚀 Fly Mode

Keyboard

  • Forward: W

  • Backward: S

  • Left: A

  • Right: D

  • Elevator Up/Down: Page Up/Page Down

  • Turn: Q / E

  • Look Up/Down: Alt + Up/Down

  • Set Camera Horizontal: Ctrl/Cmd + L

  • Speed: , (decrease), . (increase)

Mouse

  • Look Around: Left button + drag

  • Pan: Wheel button + drag

Mac Gestures

  • Look Around: Two fingers rotate

  • Pan: Two fingers move

  • Zoom: Pinch
