Set up and explore BIMcollab Nexus trial

BIMcollab Nexus is a cloud-based platform for collaborative BIM model and issue management. Integrated with many popular BIM software, it enables users to handle issues directly within their modeling or model checking environment. By starting a Nexus Trial you can access and try all of the advanced features (Ultimate plan) of this tool for 30 days and have up to 100 users to collaborate together in this test period. If you choose to buy after the Trial, your space seamlessly transitions to become a private Nexus space.

Set up a BIMcollab Nexus Trial

1. Discuss your decision to start the BIMcollab Nexus Trial with your colleagues. To fully experience the capabilities of this tool, it's useful to test it with other team members.

3. Click on 'Try 30-days free' to start the process. 


4. At the start of the process, you'll be asked to enter your email address. If you already have a BIMcollab ID, the next page will prompt you to log in with your password. If you've forgotten your password, you can reset it by clicking on "Forgot Password." If you don't have a BIMcollab ID associated with this email address, you can proceed to enter the required information to sign up.

5. After logging in or signing up, you will be directed to a page to choose the space name for your new BIMcollab Nexus Trial space. Ensure the space name is unique and does not contain any unusual characters. Otherwise, you will receive a message stating, "The Trial space name is unavailable" or "Invalid Trial space name."

6. Click on "Request Trial Space". 
7. In this step, you would see a page that states: "We are preparing your Trial..." 
8. After a few minutes that the process is fully completed, you will get an email in your mailbox that your Trial space is ready.





9. Now you can log in to your new Trial space. 
10. In the space you will be added as an admin and as the Project leader for the BIMcollab example project. This means that you can setup the project and add or invite team members. 

Nexus projects

A test project is already created in this Trial space with default values for issue properties and example Zoom resources like smart views, lists and clash rules. The test project does not contain any models or issues, so you can populate it with your own models and issues.

If you want to start a new project click on the 'New project' button in the upper righthand corner on the 'My Projects' page. You can use the existing BIMcollab project as a template to bring the issue properties and Zoom resources along. 



When creating a new project, you can define the project's name and choose a personal cover image for the project by clicking on the camera icon on the default image.

When the project has been created set additional project characteristics like the start and end date on the project, invite Team members, and set other properties for the project.

Within the project, team members can have different roles. Project leaders and editors can create, edit and respond to issues. Other team members will act as viewers or reviewers only. Viewers will be able to see all the issues but cannot alter them. Reviewers can leave comments and approve issues but like viewers cannot make any other changes.

BIMcollab Zoom Trials alongside your BIMcollab Nexus Trial

There are 5 BIMcollab Zoom licenses by default attached to this Nexus Trial space. Then those users should install BIMcollab Zoom and retrieve this license in BIMcollab Zoom to test the numerous advanced features for model checking.

Transition the Trial to a private BIMcollab Nexus space

Once the test went well and you are convinced BIMcollab can help your BIM projects to become more efficient and fruitful, you can buy the same nexus space and continue to work on it seamlessly. The BIMcollab Nexus space is a subscription with a monthly or yearly payment option. You can start with a Essential, Premium or Ultimate  plan with a minimum of 10 users and later on you can easily upgrade or downgrade your subscription, depending on your changing needs with our flexible payment options.

If you click on "Buy now" on your Nexus Trial space, you are directed to BIMcollab Webshop and you can add or adjust your favorite BIMcollab products (1), number of users/licenses (2), the type of plan or license (3), the desired payment period (4) and immediately see the changes to plans and and prices in the summary section (6). You want to see the price in a different currency? you can change that from the right top corner of the page (5). Go through all the steps in the Webshop to complete the purchase. 


Once you purchase this space, your Trial space will transition to a private BIMcollab Nexus space within a few minutes. You can log in with the same credentials to the same url (example.bimcollab.com). Your test project will be available in the new private space, allowing you to continue where you left off.



If you opt for a lower plan, such as Premium or Essentials: Since the Trial space is based on the Ultimate plan, please review the features of the various plans to ensure you don't miss out on any functionalities important for your workflow.
The Trial space has a capacity for 100 users. If you choose to have fewer users in your private space, make sure to deactivate the users who will no longer be part of the space.


You may know of Join.bimcollab.com which is a former generic testing environment with limited features. It is advised to not set up commercial projects on this test environment. If you decided to run your commercial project on this test environment, note that we hold all the rights to make changes to the functionalities and limitations of the free account without further notice. Additionally, inactive projects would be deleted after 3 months.
