On-premise policy BIMcollab
Currently we support three ways to deliver our SAAS software:
- Multi-tenant in the cloud: multiple clients share resources in the cloud in our datacenters to use our services. This is the most widely used solution, and our current and future standard offering.
On-premise: client can install (with or without our help) the services on their own server.
- Single tenant in the cloud: a client gets dedicated resources in the cloud with potentially encrypted data.
End of life current on-premise
We decided to stop with the development of the current on-premise solutions for BIMcollab Nexus and Twin. Less and less SAAS vendors offer this solution due to costs and outdated technology. This brings many advantages for development speed, use of modern technologies which bring higher quality for software and security. As an alternative to the current on-premise offering, we will enhance the Single tenant option mentioned above to solve most (but not all) of the requirements which on-premise clients mostly have:
- Hosting their data in their own country; will be available as standard multi-tenant solution for some countries and for other countries as single tenant solution. Delivering services closer to the end-user improves performance as well.
- Hosting high security projects on their own (closed) servers; The single tenant solution can be a solution in many cases. Extra security services like encrypted data or VPN access will come with additional pricing.
What does it mean for current on-premise spaces
- The latest update for on-premise will be released this year (2024). After that we don’t release updates for on-premise anymore. The solution becomes “as is”,
- Existing on-premise clients can still upgrade the number of users in their on-premise space.
- We will offer on-premise clients an upgrade path to the cloud.
Reasons to upgrade on-premise to the cloud
- Better and always up-to-date security
- Immediate access to all new features of BIMcollab
- Save money
Upgrade path current on-premise spaces
As an On-premise user you can upgrade to the standard multi-tenant offering anytime you want. Upgrading to the new single tenant offering, can be done as soon as this becomes available.
