BIMcollab is getting a new look and naming, and it is also adding two new releases to its ecosystem.
New BIMcollab naming
As a part of our visual refresh, we are also updating some of our naming. Some of the old names can still be found in the BIMcollab Help Center. However, we are in the process of updating them as soon as possible.
Our products are now called:
- BIMcollab Nexus (BIMcollab Cloud)
- BIMcollab Zoom (BIMcollab Zoom)
- BIMcollab Twin (BIMlink)
And our plans are now renamed to:
- Essential (Starter)
- Premium (Connected)
- Ultimate (Enterprise)
BIMcollab Twin release
BIMcollab Twin is a model centric document management system for storing, managing and sharing building and infrastructure data. All documents, drawings and models from all phases of the building life cycles are securely stored, and are available and structured for the required project stakeholders.
It contains a number of useful features, some of which are:
- A structured approach to document management, where users can upload, comment, classify and manage versions of different file types.
- Create, respond and coordinate through communication items such as questions and tasks.
- Design a structured document approval process with automated Workflows, and ensure that relevant stakeholders give final approval to documents.
- View models in the new BIMcollab Model WebViewer, or the native model viewer, which visualizes models and objects and links them to relevant documents or communication items.
New Streaming Model WebViewer
The new WebViewer provides the opportunity to view IFC models in the browser, by uploading models directly to BIMcollab Nexus with remarkable upload and navigation speeds. It allows teams to navigate around IFC models without a BIM environment, ensuring that all project stakeholders have access to the right models in a centralized database.
The new feature will be available to users of all plans, under the Model tab of BIMcollab Nexus.
Highlighted features:
- Select between visualizing models or object types
- Show/Hide individual models or object types
- View, create and edit BCF issues directly in the web viewer
- Add section planes, section boxes and custom color objects
- User-friendly navigation bar
