Issues multiplied after synchronisation with Solibri | 25-05-2021

We have received several reports where one or multiple issues are not synchronized correctly between Solibri and BIMcollab when using the BCF Live Connector, with Solibri versions 9.12.5 or older.
This happens when the BIMcollab server returns an error-code, and can result in duplicates of an issue during synchronization.

In a joined effort, BIMcollab and Solibri have been working to solve various issues and found multiple fixes. Solibri has implemented these fixes in version 9.12.6, and included a new icon to indicate when the sending of issues fails.

Please update to Solibri version 9.12.6 by downloading it from the Solibri Solution Center.

The underlying cause of this problem was the handling of error messages during the sending of issues from Solibri to BIMcollab.
These error messages were caused by:
  1. Duplicated GUID for colored components
  2. Long BATIDs
  3. Using http instead of https in the URL when setting up the server connection

How to handle duplicate issues in BIMcollab

We recommend that you immediately close duplicate issues that have already been created due to this problem, to avoid confusion with the original issues.
Apply a filter in Solibri and BIMcollab so only Active and Resolved issues are displayed. Deleting an issue in BIMcollab is not possible.

Additionally you can create a label, for example 'duplicate', to assign to these erroneous issues. Apart from using the label to filter the issue list, this can also help to address incorrect dashboard information. By making a connection from BIMcollab to PowerBI, you can create a personal dashboard where the duplicate issues can be excluded based on the label.
