Linking documents(set) to object(type)

Linking documents(set) to object(type)

You can add documents and documentation to objects from the 3D objects module. Once the model is loaded, select in the object (1) to which you want to add documents. Then in the right sidebar open the Documents panel (2). There you will find a button for Adding Documents (3) in the upper right corner, after which a Menu (4) opens. You can choose to attach documents to the the selected object, or to add documents to the all objects of that type.  So, for example, the manual for a fire extinguisher is useful to attach to the object type, it will be visible at every fire extinguisher. But the specific inspection report should be attached to that one fire extinguisher, because it is specific to that fire extinguisher.

In the menu (4) , you will also see in an option to link a document set to an object(type). This adds  a kind of folder to the object(type) and all documents that are later put into the document set/folder will automatically become visible for the object(type). Once you have added a document set, the documents from the corresponding set(s) will become visible in the panel, not the set itself.
