Create and edit issues in Navisworks
Create issues
You have different options for creating issues, choose the workflow you prefer:
- By importing clashes from the Clash Detective
- By importing saved viewpoints to create issues
- Manually create issues
Create issues by importing clashes from the Clash Detective
Clashes found in the Clash Detective should be imported directly into the BCF Manager. The BCF Manager will automatically link the original clash to the issue. When the status of the clash in Navisworks changes, the linked issue can be updated.
To create issues from clashes, click the Import button, and choose 'From Clash Results'.
Create Issues from Saved Viewpoints
Another way to create issues in Navisworks is by using 'Saved Viewpoints'. These are viewpoints created in Navisworks during a manual check of the model.
To create issues from the Saved Viewpoints, click the Import button, and choose 'From Saved Viewpoints'.
Edit and delete Issues
You can zoom to an issue by double-clicking on it. The viewpoint which is saved in the issue will be activated.
You can either update an issue from its linked clash in Navisworks, or edit the issue manually.
Update issues which are linked to clashes
Issues which are created from clashes in the Clash Detective, can be updated according to the changes made to the linked clashes.
To create issues from clashes, click the Import button, and choose 'From Clash Results', and in the issue details window choose 'Update issues from previously imported clashes'.
Edit Issues which are not linked to clashes
Delete Issues
If you want to remove an issue click on the - button
You can only remove issues if you have created them yourself, and they have not yet been synchronized to BIMcollab Nexus.
It is strongly recommended to only use the comment section in the BCF Manager in this OpenBIM communication workflow. The Clash Detective's purpose is to create and update clashes and to put through to the BCF Manager. The communication about those clashes should happen within the BCF Manager.
If you want to add a comment:
- Select the issue
- Type the comment in the 'Quick comment' section, notify someone and/or insert a snapshot
- Click on 'Send', the comment will be added
If you want to edit a comment:
- Click once on the comment
- The text of the comment will be displayed and will be editable in middle section of the BCF Manager
You can only edit a comment which you have created yourself.
If you want to remove a comment click on the desired comment and press 'Delete' on your keyboard. Confirm the deletion by clicking 'Yes' or cancel by clicking 'No'.
You can only delete a comment which you have created yourself, and which has not yet been synchronized to the project.
