Create and edit issues in Navisworks

Create and edit issues in Navisworks

With the  BCF Manager for Navisworks, you can  connect to a BIMcollab project and exchange issues directly.

Create issues

You have different options for creating issues, choose the workflow you prefer:
  1. By importing clashes from the Clash Detective
  2. By importing saved viewpoints to create issues
  3. Manually create issues

Create issues by importing clashes from the Clash Detective

Clashes found in the Clash Detective should be imported directly into the BCF Manager. The BCF Manager will automatically link the original clash to the issue. When the status of the clash in Navisworks changes, the linked issue can be updated.
To create issues from clashes, click the Import button, and choose 'From Clash Results'.

Create Issues from Saved Viewpoints

Another way to create issues in Navisworks is by using 'Saved Viewpoints'. These are viewpoints created in Navisworks during a manual check of the model.
To create issues from the Saved Viewpoints, click the Import button, and choose 'From Saved Viewpoints'.

For more information consult the article How to transfer Saved Viewpoints to BIMcollab Cloud.

Create Issues directly in the BCF Manager

When you are connected to the desired project you can start creating issues manually:
  1. Click the  button to add a new issue

  2. Fill in the Title and other fields
  3. Add a comment
  4. The active view will be used as a viewpoint for the issue. You can also insert a snapshot from a folder on your computer  or from the clipboard .
When you want to edit a Snapshot, you can click on the pencil button . The snapshot will be opened in your default image editor, where you can add annotations.
  5. Choose which items will be stored in the viewpoint. Store only what is needed to understand the issue:
    1. Visible components
    2. Selected components
    3. None = Show whole model

For general information about creating viewpoints, consult the article:   How to create the best viewpoints  .
  6. Fill in the names of the team members you want to notify about this issue
  7. Hit the 'Save' button and the issue will be created
