Activate a BCF Manager

Activate a BCF Manager

First-time activation

When you use a BCF Manager for the first time, you will be prompted to log in with your personal BIMcollab ID to activate the application.

If you do not yet have a BIMcollab ID, you can directly create one from the login window.
Once the activation is complete, you can use the BCF Manager to its full potential. The activation is valid for 30 days, and is automatically renewed when you open the application within that timeframe. If you haven't used the BCF Manager in over 30 days, you will be asked to log in again the next time you start it.

For activation, you must be connected to the internet. If the BCF Manager cannot connect to the internet, you can still use it in offline mode. It will try to activate the next time you have an internet connection.
If your company makes use of a proxy server, you can enter your proxy settings by going to the BCF Manager settings. In the settings window, activate 'Enable proxy server', and enter the proxy settings.

Once the BCF Manager has access to the internet, you will be asked to log in the next time the application is started.

Versions 5.5.83 and older

When you start a BCF Manager for the first time, you will be prompted to enter your personal activation key.

This key is automatically created when you create a BIMcollab ID. You can find the activation key:
  1. on your BIMcollab ID page at my.bimcollab.com
  2. by going to Settings > My account on any private space you are added to
  3. by going to Settings > Preferences in your free project on join.bimcollab.com
  4. You can request to receive the activation key at any time here: request activation key
To activate the BCF Manager, you must be connected to the internet. If your company makes use of a proxy server then you can enter your proxy settings by clicking on 'Settings' in the activation dialog.
