Automatic floor plans help you understand the location and context of model elements without displaying the entire 3D model. BIMcollab Zoom automatically displays the relevant 2D floor plans based on the components currently visible in your view.
Floor plans can include element footprints, grids, and space information for each building story.

Show floor plans
You can manually show or hide floor plans using Alt + F or by going to View > Show/hide floor plans.
This displays the floor plans of all stories simultaneously, which can make the view difficult to read when multiple floor plans overlap. To display only the relevant floor plans, use Automatic floor plans.
Enable Automatic floor plans
When Automatic floor plans are enabled, BIMcollab Zoom automatically shows the floor plans relevant to the currently visible components. As you change your view, the displayed floor plans update accordingly.

You can enable this function by:
Clicking the Toggle automatic floor plans button on the screen.
Going to View > Automatic floor plans.
📝 Note: Use this feature when zooming to clashes. This helps you understand the location and context of a clash.
Floor plans from multiple models
Automatic floor plans can also display floor plans from other models at the same elevation as the currently visible components.
This provides additional context, particularly when working with models that contain limited floor plan information.
Customize the floor plan display
You can choose which information is displayed on floor plans.
Go to View > Floor plan display and enable or disable:
Footprints: 2D outlines of model elements.
Grids: Building grid lines.
Space information: Information about spaces on each story.
📝 Note: Grids are only visible in BIMcollab Zoom if you turn automatic floor plans on.
