While configuring your conflict rules in BIMcollab Zoom, you can set tolerance values to filter out minor or insignificant clashes, ensuring that only relevant conflicts are included in your results. These tolerances are based on the dimensions of your conflict's clash box.

Clash Box
In BIMcollab Zoom, clashes are defined by their clash box, a virtual box that surrounds the outer edges of the overlapping area between two elements. Clash boxes are visible in the 3D view when using the schematic view mode to review conflict results or while checking Smart Issues.
Click on any clash box to view its dimensions and location in the properties panel, you can use this information as a guide when setting tolerance values.
You can individually report or ignore a conflict directly from the 3D view by right-clicking on the clash box. Additionally, you have visual options such as creating a section plane or adding a section box around the clash for a more detailed view.
The color of the clash box provides a quick visual reference by indicating the status of a conflict from the results panel, as well as the status of a Smart Issue once it has been reported.
Setting Tolerance Values
Tolerance settings are found below the conflict rules section. Here, you can set minimum thresholds for the size or volume of detected clashes to determine which ones are included in the results.

Clash Box Size: You can set a minimum size for the shortest [1] or longest [2] side of a clash box. This allows you to filter clashes more effectively based on the dimensions of the collision zone. If either the shortest or longest side of the clash box (depending on your selection) is smaller than the tolerance value you set, the clash will not be counted.
📝 Note: For example, imagine a clash box formed between a wall and a ceiling that measures 100mm x 5000mm. If you set the minimum size to 150mm for the 'shortest side' option, this clash would not be considered, as the shortest side (100mm) is below the tolerance.
Clash Box Volume: Enter a minimum volume value for clash boxes. This allows you to define a broader distinction without specifying exact values for the clash box size.
📝 Note: Select both options if you want to further refine your results. This way, only clashes that meet both the minimum clash box size AND volume criteria will be included in the results.
⚠️ Attention: Please note that clash boxes in BIMcollab Zoom are always aligned with the X, Y, and Z axes, so tolerances can only be set according to these axes. This alignment may impact the dimensions of clash boxes for round [1] or angled elements [2].
